How to Make a Good Sound System for Under 80 Bucks.

Have you ever wanted a surround sound system, but you don't have $500? Here is a solution.

Get all of the things you'll need together (See things you'll need).

Connect all of the speakers on the Logitech X530 sound system to the subwoofer. (i.e. red to red, white to white)

Connect the three 1/8" jacks from the sound system to the game console adapter.

Connect the MP3 adapter that has the red and white adapter cables to the game console adapter.

Connect the other end of the mp3 audio adapter cable to the MP3 or CD player of your choice. If the source has "line-out" on it (some CD players and higher-end MP3 players have) then use this rather than the headphone port.

Plug in the sound system.

Turn the knob on the right front speaker to the on position.

Turn on your MP3 or CD player.

Listen to each individual speaker to make sure every one works.

Adjust the sound on your MP3 or CD player so their is no clipping (static noise) - this is usually around 70% volume on the MP3 or CD player.

Turn up the knob on the back of the subwoofer to where you are comfortable with it.

Move the speakers around until you are satisfied with the sound.

Listen and enjoy!

Tips

  • It is best to set this up in a room that will not interfere with the quality of sound coming from these speakers.
  • Check out a lot of different stores for display models (you can sometimes get a very expensive model quite cheap).

Warnings

  • Do not plug in the sound system until you have connected all cables and turned on the audio source.
  • Do not listen to the music with the volume turned up too loud. You might have some angry neighbors and it can damage your hearing.

Things You'll Need

  • A CD player or some sort of audio device that uses a 1/8" audio jack. (Video iPods work great too.)
  • Logitech x530 sound system.
  • Logitech game console adapter.
  • Audio adapter cables.
  • About 30 minutes to an hour of free time.
